WHAT THAT’S ABOUT Workin’ til it’s all gone Every last drop Inspiration seems so far gone So what is it worth? Maybe it’s not your problem Maybe you just can’t relate But I can’t keep writing you songs this way CHORUS I think we’re all crazy But we just can’t figure it out What that’s about Lookin’ for answers Lookin for something Looking for a scapegoat Well, how ‘bout religion Jesus never would’ve wanted it this way Come Sunday, he’ll forgive you You’re sinnin’ every other day CHORUS Are we headed for disaster? Can’t we move, just a little bit faster? I can’t live in fear Not while I’m still standing here Are we headed for disaster? If it’s true, does it matter? I can’t live in fear So if the end is near, I’ll see you in the ever-after Turn off the tv, the marketing machine Look who’s tryin’ to tell me ‘bout reality Can’t watch the news no more So what do you believe? The world needs a hero and we’re relying on Britney CHORUS

Save Me 04:40
SAVE ME I’m so tired So uninspired Got to get out of my head To get back inside Not gonna turn ‘round No, no, no not gonna turn ‘round Save me from all of your doubt Not gonna turn ‘round CHORUS Just want someone to come down And show me how this could be easy ‘Cause I can’t stop thinking ‘bout How time will just run out eventually I’ve got to save me from me Thought I had it figured out Thought I knew me so well Knew what happiness was all about I’m not so sure I can tell And you, you’re some kind of savior Some kind of angel Get me out of this, get me out I’m stuck between me and myself CHORUS Just want someone to come down And show me how this could be easy ‘Cause I can’t stop thinking ‘bout How time will just run out on me …and all I believe Take my pride, you’re my life Don’t you fade out on me You’re the star in my sky Don’t you fade out on me I don’t wanna say goodbye Don’t you fade out on me You’re some kind of savoir Some kind of angel Help me get out of my head
3.
LITTLE BROTHER Your brother don’t know No, the others don’t know You tried to tell ‘em but you couldn’t You’re here with me now And nobody’s around Doing all of the things that we shouldn’t Chorus: I don’t care what they say, Sister, won’t you stay Don’t listen to your little brother I don’t care what they say Sister, won’t you stay He’s been getting his way with my lover Never did nothing wrong ‘Cept put it in a song Nobody gave us the information Whatcha gonna do now? Just tune it all out Like changing the radio station Oh no, never saw it coming You left me in the dark where they’d rather keep me Never saw it coming Girl, you shouldn’t have to leave CHORUS Never saw it coming No, I never saw it coming
4.
GOOD IS ALL GONE Oh no, where did the sun go? Seems so far away Used to feel so close You have enough of our good love I guess it faded away Why’d we have to change CHORUS Don’t say that the good is all gone And that it’s time to move on You can take what you want But don’t let it go Don’t believe that it’s true There’s still good in you Don’t say that the good is all gone And leave me alone Never felt nothin’ so hard Yeah, I’m afraid of the dark If that’s how it’s gonna be I love you woman, gonna set you free What’ve you got to say? You gonna slay me like you did yesterday? What’ve you got to say? I’m gonna take all I can take CHORUS Don’t leave me alone Don’t you know, baby, so good Don’t you go, baby, so good CHORUS I don’t believe that it’s true Girl, I’m still in love with you Don’t say that the good is all gone And leave me alone
5.
SING ME SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL I know you’ve got it going on Don’t think that I don’t I know every time you sing that song Just why you wrote it Sing me something beautiful Make me want to take you home Sing me something beautiful Make me feel like I am not alone You got through to me So many times before, you said you wanted more I just wasn’t listening You got through to me If I could only find the words I’d sing you something beautiful To make you want to take me home I’d sing you something beautiful To make you feel like you are never, Never alone I feel like you should write this verse ‘Cause I’m not sure where it goes We’ve come to the part we’ve not rehearsed I guess we’ve got to let it flow Let’s sing something beautiful To make us feel like we are not alone Let’s sing something beautiful Make me feel like we are not alone Wait, if you go, I’ll just sit here all alone With all the fears staring over my shoulder Baby, please come home

about

Recorded in the fall of 2005 at Eggchair Studios in Hollywood with Chris Fuhrman after the breakup of Paper Sun. It was the first group of songs I had written after the Good Things album. We recorded these songs all live in the same room. I borrowed a Gretch archtop guitar from Jenni Alpert for these sessions, which is what inspired me to get the '57 Harmony I now use as my main guitar.
